Facebook dark mode has been officially on its messenger app rolling out globally. It was announced on 15 April 2019 on the Product blog of the company. The feature can be used by toggle switch in the settings menu. Enter into settings menu by clicking on your profile photo in the app. The feature helps the user to change the chats display into black and also helps in saving the battery of your device. Google claims Android need less battery to display blacks as compared to white. The Dark Mode is very helpful for using the app in dim lighting conditions. This will make users feel less strain on their eyes while using in the night. Dark Mode breaks the monotony of white screens and adds aesthetic appeal to the users.
Other tech companies have also started to offer user the dark mode considering the benefits of it. Google also introduced dark mode into its apps and Android system. Samsung did the same thing by bringing the night mode into its One UI, Instagram has also offers a psuedo dark mode called smart invert in its app for iOS users. The Whatsapp Dark Mode is highly anticipated. In future we could see Websites and other screens to offer Dark Mode.
