HMD Global owned Nokia has finally lifted the curtains over its most anticipated flagship phone of 2019. The Nokia 9 PureView has just been launched at the MWC event. And by now, everyone knows the most attractive highlight of this smartphone, for which it was being teased for a long time. Yes, the Penta-Camera setup was no gimmick and it’s officially real.
Straightly coming onto the specs sheet and design of the phone, then it looks just amazing. The back is made of curved glass and the device is IP67 certified too for resistance to water and dust. Apart from this, it has a 5.99-inch QHD+ pOLED display (1440x2960p). The aspect ratio of the screen is 18.5:9. And yes, the phone also comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor and face unlocking.
The flagship phone is powered by another flagship chip by Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 845 processor. It’s combined with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal capacity. The durability of a day’s performance is taken care of by a 3,320mAh battery. But it will last definitely longer, thanks to a pure Android experience provided in Nokia 9 PureView. The software platform is of the latest Android 9 Pie operating system. It implies a full stock user experience. There is also wireless charging support and fast charging technology too.
Connectivity includes a USB Type-C port, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi, and NFC. There is no 3.5mm audio jack though, that may disappoint its admirers.
But coming back to the main highlight of this beast, then it’s the Penta-Camera setup on the rear with ZEISS certified lenses. There are three monochrome sensors of 12MP each. And there are two RGB sensors also of 12MP each. Each of these cameras combines various photos to create a single image. Aperture for all these five cameras is the same, at f/1.82. Not to mention that the image produced will be a stunning one, of course. On the front, there is a huge 20MP selfie camera for capturing astonishing pictures.
The phone also has Nokia’s Bothie-mode for capturing both the front and rear shots at the same time.
As far as the price and availability of Nokia 9 PureView is concerned, then HMD Global has announced that too. It will be priced at around $699 (about Rs.49,700) upon its wide release in various markets. The sales will begin in March 2019. Pricing and availability details for the Indian market haven’t been revealed yet. The only colour option, for now, is the Midnight Blue.
