Unarguably, Qualcomm’s chipsets have remained as the Android industry’s top choice when it comes to choosing a mobile processor. Recently, Qualcomm also announced the Snapdragon 855 which brings the best of AI to users.
Qualcomm is now bringing the flagship level AI to the mid-range chipsets, namely the 6 and 7 series. The new 730, 730G and 665 will benefit from improved AI and gaming performance.
The 730 houses the fourth-gen multi-core AI engine with the Hexagon 688 processor. It also supports triple camera set up all the while utilizing lesser power by bringing the Spectra 350. It brings the AI performance previously available only to the 8 series.
The 730G is the gaming variant which is a true powerhouse. Rocking the new Adreno 618 GPU, it offers an increase of over 15% in terms of gaming performance over the normal variant. It also reduces screen stutter considerably.
Lastly, the 665, which will be the cheapest out of the three, bring the Hexagon 686 DSP and the third-gen AI engine. It will also support a triple rear camera system. Overall, performance on this mid-ranger won’t be an issue with the octa-core Kyo 260.
The mid-range smartphone industry is witnessing the enormous eruption of hardware and the new lineup from Qualcomm seems promising.
