Chinese giant Xiaomi had confirmed the date of the release of the Xiaomi Mi 9 to be 20th February. Now, the company is gearing up, releasing the specifications of the phone one by one.
The company’s CEO, Lei Jun, and brand ambassador Wang Yuan featured in a recent video released by Xiaomi. They confirmed that the device will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 processor.
The company has confirmed the specifications of its triple camera sensors on the Mi 9. Like the speculations had suggested, the primary sensor on the rear has a 48MP 1/2-inch Sony IMX586 sensor with an aperture of f/1.75. There is a 12MP telephone lens with f/2.2 aperture, and the third lens is a 16MP ultra wide angle lens with f/2.2 aperture. It has 4cm macro support as well. The front camera of the Mi 9 will feature a 20MP selfie shooter. Alongside, the colours of the variants of the Mi 9 were also revealed. The smartphone will be available in Gradient Blue, Solid Blue, Gradient Pink, Solid Black, and Solid Gray.
Xiaomi had also confirmed to have reduced the chin size in the front. Compared to the Mi 8, the chin size is said to have been reduced by 40%.
According to Xiaomi, the Mi 9 has a sapphire glass, covering 243 square millimeters on top of all three rear cameras for protection. Also, the Mi 9’s frame is stainless steel. Besides, the device is expected to run on Android Pie 10 and have a powerful 3,500 mAh battery.
